Intro

Add gaps to open or closed Paths where a Contour self-intersects.

Gaps are created where a single contour self-intersects

UI

Mode - Set where gaps are created along the Path.

  • Over First - Gaps are created at intersections in a repeating order of over, under, over, under...
  • Under First - Gaps are created at intersections in a repeating order of under, over, under, over...
  • Gaps on Both - Gaps are created at intersections on both sections of the Path.

Gap Width - Set the size of the gaps in pixels.

Example
  1. Using the Pen or Pencil tool, draw a Path that crosses itself.
  2. Click the + button on the Path's Deformers attribute and choose Knot.

Gaps will be created where the Path intersects with itself.

Limitations

In certain scenarios, the Contour's geometry and the order of intersections can mean it's not possible to create the correct gaps for some types of knot.

Note that an intersection that occurs where a loop is created by reversing bézier handles is not included.
