Shelf
Intro
The Shelf is located at the top of the default Workspace and contains shortcut buttons for setting up quick actions that can be used to speed up common workflows.
Buttons
Demo Scenes
Select a Scene to add to the current Composition as an example to inspire or learn from. Not all examples are set up to animate but holding Cmd/Ctrl when selecting a menu item will automatically start playback. These can also be accessed via the Create menu.
Try Pro / Pro Features
This will launch a window containing simple examples that use the Professional features for evaluation. This button will appear as 'Try Pro' for Starter licences and 'Pro Features' for Professional licences. Note that Starter users will be switched into 'Restricted Mode' which prevents saving and rendering – deleting the Pro Layer(s) will restore saving and rendering.
Duplicator
Create a Duplicator and add any selected Shapes to its Input Shapes attribute.
Extrude
Create an Extrude Shape and add any selected Shapes to its Input Shapes attribute.
Forge Dynamics
Create an Forge Dynamics Shape and add any selected Shapes to its Bodies attribute.
Particles
Create an Particle Shape Shape and Particle Emitter.
Auto-Animate
Add an Auto-Animate Behaviour to the Composition and connect it to the Deformers attribute of any selected Shapes.
Align
Add an Align Behaviour to the Composition and connect it to the Deformers attribute of any selected Shapes.
Rig Control
Add a Rig Control to the Composition.
Animation Control
Add an Animation Control to the Composition.
Rubber Hose
Create a default Rubber Hose Limb. If a Shape is selected the Rubber Hose will be connected to its Deformers attribute.
Cel Animation
Create a Cel Animation Shape and enable the Pencil tool (unless the Pen tool is already active).
Text along a Path
With a Text Shape and a Shape selected, clicking the Text along a Path button will connect the Path to the Text Shape's Text Path attribute placing the Text along the Path. It will also connect the Text Shape's Path Travel to the Composition's Time meaning that it will move along the Path in playback. Remove this connection to customise the animation.
Scheduling Group - Schedule
Add the selected Shapes to a Scheduling Group and check the Sequence attribute.
Scheduling Group - Stagger
Add the selected Shapes to a Scheduling Group, add a Stagger Behaviour and connect it to the Scheduling Group's Child Offset.
Layout Group - Horizontal
Add the selected Shapes to a Layout Group with its Direction attribute set to Horizontal.
Layout Group - Vertical
Add the selected Shapes to a Layout Group with its Direction attribute set to Vertical.
Layout Group - Grid
Add the selected Shapes to a Grid Layout Row embedded within a Grid Layout Group.
Camera
Add a Camera to the Composition.
